OSHA-required safety training sessions for all field employees take place every other month and are conducted by the safety department. These training sessions are conducted in our Lenexa, Lawrence or Topeka offices or on the job site in our 36-foot Wells Cargo gooseneck trailer equipped with climate control, on-board generator, and all necessary audio/video equipment.

Outside of these required classes, P1 Group also provides training on other topics that are helpful in the field.

Field foremen are also trained annually in CPR and every other year in First Aid.

After every class, each field employee receives an employee card, which lists all the training courses they have completed and the date of completion. These cards are kept with them at all times.

New Hire Orientation is a three-hour process which includes:

• Completing necessary paperwork
• Watching a one-hour Safety Orientation Video that includes an introduction to the P1 Group and covers basic safety information.
• At the completion of the orientation, the new employee must pass a safety examination. Then the employee will receive his/her assignment along with safety glasses, a hard hat, and an Employee Accident Prevention Handbook.

Each new job site will be outfitted with the following:

• Safety Manual
• Toolbox Talks
• Federal 5 in 1 Poster
• MSDS 1-800 Number
• EEO Letter along with Kansas and Missouri EEO Information.

At least once a month the safety director and/or project manager will conduct a job site evaluation during which they follow a set of criteria in evaluating the field employees, their actions and the overall condition of the job site.

• Safety Manual: This includes extensive information on the safety and well-being of the field employees. It also includes Substance Abuse Policies and Procedures, Disciplinary Procedures, and Incident Report and Investigation Procedures
• Toolbox Talks: These consist of weekly topics to be covered on site and returned to the office for record keeping.

P1 Group's commitment to safety is exemplified in its participation in the Build Safe Partnership Program (BSPP).

The Build Safe Partnership Program is an alliance of regional contractors in The Builders' Association and OSHA. The program is designed to give companies with an exceptional safety track record special incentives, including exemption from OSHA inspections for a year.

The objective of the program is to allow OSHA to focus its attention on companies that don't put the same kind of focus on safety that P1 Group does.
